'Peace, Peace' … Israel Beware!
'They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly saying 'Peace, peace, when there is no peace.' Jeremiah 6.14.
President Mubarak of Egypt, Palestinian Chairman Arafat, King Abdullah of Jordan, President Suleiman of Turkey, US President Clinton, Prime Minister Blair, President Yeltsin of Russia. Key players in the Middle East and the International Community whom Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak met in the opening weeks of his government. The possibility of a meeting with Syrian President Assad has also been raised.
The White House rolled out the red carpet for Mr Barak and Tony Blair declared himself 101% behind his peace moves.
Kosovo, Northern Ireland … is Israel next in line for the intervention of the Blair / Clinton / International Community effort to create peace and stability in the world today? If so, is this good news for Israel? That depends on how you read their efforts so far.
Some general points about current global trends, which are relevant to this issue:
Mini states are emerging in conflict areas, which do
not have economic viability and are socially unstable. Such states need the
support and intervention of the international community in order to survive.
Organisations once considered terrorist are being brought into power
sharing situations by governments, which are supposed to oppose terrorism. What
is required of the terrorist organisation is that they make a statement in
words that they will give up their former intentions. In reality they do not
need to change their intentions or give up the means of carrying them out.
There is a growing control of the media by 'spin doctors' who promote and
suppress information according to how it will shape public opinion.
Decision-making is being taken away from national elected governments and
placed in the hands of shadowy elites behind international bodies like the EU,
NATO and the UN. Local politicians who co-operate with the process are promoted
and made electable. Those who resist it are vilified and removed from power.
Things are not always what they seem.
Applied to Israel this scenario
means:
The International Community is intent on setting up a
Palestinian State in the West Bank and Gaza. Israel is now agreeing to this.
This state will be economically and socially unstable and will require some
kind of outside intervention to sustain it.
The Palestinian Authority may
say it intends to live in peace and co-existence with Israel and will probably
do so in the short term. That does not mean it has given up the long term aims
of the Palestinian National Covenant and the 10 Points Phased Policy of 1974. A
peace treaty with Israel is consistent with the stated aim of these documents -
i.e. setting up a state on territory Israel withdraws from and using it as a
base from which to dismantle the Jewish state. Using the Kosovo situation as a
model, the demand for the return of the Palestinian refugees to their former
homeland will be one method for doing this.
Information which encourages
people to believe that what is happening will lead to a genuine peace will be
promoted in the media (including the Jewish press). Information, which shows
the opposite, will be suppressed. Those who question this will be vilified as
enemies of the peace and warmongers.
The real decisions are being taken by
shadowy figures of the globalist elite not by the elected representatives of
Israel. If Israeli politicians go along with these decisions they will be
treated with honour. If they don't they will be pushed out of power.
Things are not what they seem. What is happening in the Middle East is just
part of the bigger picture, which is the breakdown of nations into regions and
mini states (it's happening in the UK too) to be absorbed into supra-national
entities which will lead in turn to some kind of global government. There is
also a movement to some kind of religious unification dominated by Roman
Catholicism, Islam and a mixture of eastern religions and western humanism
under the general title 'New Age'.
Behind all this we see a spiritual
dimension as prophecies in the Bible are coming to pass. For example:
Jerusalem a burdensome stone burdening all nations
(Zechariah 12.3) - i.e. Jerusalem to be a concern for the United Nations at the
end of this age.
Israel making a covenant with death (Isaiah 28.15). Some
kind of treaty with a 7-year time frame (Daniel 9.27) being made by leaders who
'speak lies at the same table' (Daniel 11.27).
A global political system
emerging backed by an evil spiritual power whose roots are in ancient Babylon
(Daniel 2, 7, Revelation 13, 17).
Events which are leading to the (second)
coming of the Messiah (Daniel 7, Zechariah 12-14, Matthew 24, Luke 21).
The return of the Jewish people to Israel is a prophetic sign of the last days
of this age and the soon coming of the Messianic Age described by the Hebrew
Prophets (Isaiah 2, 11, Zechariah 14). This is the time when there will be real
peace. The 'peace', which is now being imposed on Israel, is a false peace,
which will not stand.
